The diference between hardware and software:

The hardware incluses all the physiscs parts of the computer, what mean the peripherals (mouse, keyboards, speakers, headphones and monitor), motherboard, CPU (the processor unit), Hard Disk (HD), the main memory (RAM) and others physics parts.

The software is an Operational System (OS) developed for the user interact with the hardware. When the user boot the computer (starts him) the hardware load the files to stard the OS; so the user  utilize the peripherals ( Mouse and Keyboard manly) to gives information to the hardware (input) and makes him response the OS with what information the user wants (output).

In short: The Hardware is the physical part of the computer and the Software is the Operacional System which the user interacts.

10/24/2014 and 10/21/2014 CLASSES - Skimming, Skanning and My false friends :(

Hello everybody who's acessing my blog (the teachers), hehe

On this class me and my classmates learned about the falses cognates, that are our false friends. They are basicaly the words that are writeen with a similar form in english and in portuguese.

For example:

- Actually, that's mean "na verdade" and make us think that means "Atualmente"
       - Actually I don't know this.

- Enroll, that's mean "inscrever-se" and make us think that means "Enrolar"
   - I'll enroll on this university.

After this, we learned how to read using Skimming and Scanning, that are two diferent forms of read a text. Using the skimming, we read the text faster just for detect the general theme. That is, attention is paid in the heading, subheading, words in bold and worlds in italic.

In the other hand, in the scanning we read all the text slowly and pay attention at all words. In other words, not just the titles and highlighted words are important, all the text are important to understand totally him.
